Whether you get in ruts with your teaching or often feel like you don’t quite have enough information, teaching is easier when you have all of this to work with . . .
Asana
Though our faculty draws from many styles of yoga, our 300-hour training emphasizes traditional Iyengar-based alignment, with influences from Anusara. Lori is a self-professed training addict, always seeking out new workshops, teachers, and perspectives. She loves fine-tuning a good asana and being particular about the little details that make a pose go from normal to profound.
Leslie is a lifelong dancer with additional certifications in Pilates & fitness, so she brings her Pilates perspective to asana. We feel Pilates principles fill in the gap in many asana traditions, bringing a fuller understanding of movement to every discipline. It also gives you a unique edge as an instructor, since most teachers don’t approach asana from this perspective.
They will teach you:
Anatomy
Learn anatomy as applied to asana, giving you an important tool for sequencing, and the confidence to work with injuries, special conditions, and private clients.
Meditation
Ben & Kendra, our Meditation & Philosophy instructors, studied in India for 7 years and then spent 3 years at a silent retreat. They will teach you their own experiences as well as the yoga concepts of rajas, tamas & sattva as applied to meditation. Then you'll learn the 9 Stages of Meditation presented by the 7th century yogi Kamalshila.

Lori teaches a lot of privates and almost every time, they renew (one of her current clients has studied with her every week for the past 2+ years). Hear what she does and how you can be confident teaching privates, too.
